Note: It is recommended that the Au Pair does not work more than 35-40 hours per week. A standard working day should be determined to no more than 10 hours and host parents are not to leave children alone over night with the Au Pair. The Au Pair can baby-sit two nights per/week (which is included in the 40 hours). If the Au Pair works overtime she should be reimbursed 10-15$ per/hour depending on the circumstances. Your Au Pair is not to work more than 45 hours per week (including overtime). If your Au Pair has not worked her assigned hours for the week, they can not be transferred to the next week. If your Au Pair becomes sick, we suggest that you pay her for her sick day. For any lengthy period of illness the Au Pair must have purchased sufficient insurance before arrival.
The Au Pair is not entitled to "public holidays", however we do recommend that you allow your Au Pair enough "free time" when suitable. The Au Pair is entitled to two weeks paid vacation throughout the 12 month working year. The Au Pair is entitled to two days off per week, these days should be scheduled in advance and if possible suit both Host Parents & Au Pair needs.
Please suggest appropriate working hours for your Au Pairs schedule. Further arrangements will be made with the Au Pair upon arrival.
For any outings with the children that are conducted during work hours the costs will be carried by the host parents (such as Museums, Mc Donald's e.t.c).
